Today I’ll be telling about your things, that you should have on a MUST TO HAVE basis, installed in your PC to fulfill all your designing needs.
Adobe Illustrator.
For those who are good at drawing and wish to design characters, scenarios etc. Illustrator seems to be the best one out there. There are other Paint Shop Pro too, but I personally think that Illustrator along with a Wacom Bamboo seem to be a must have in my list for designing characters especially if you are not doing anything on professional level. Reasons being the simplified interface and compatibility of the two.
Adobe Photoshop
Nobody would deny me on this one, photoshop is possibly the only software that almost any designer will have. Photoshop seems to be the best designing softwares I have come across especially when it comes to digital imaging, or designing banners. It not only preserves the quality but also enhances it.
AAA Logo Creator
To some this may be something new, but believe me its the best out there when it comes to Logo Objects. With more than 2000 Logo objects, one can make anything possible out of it. This is one of the best softwares I consider to be installed in everyone’s PC. Its simple to use and design objects with. You will also get a good idea of fonts from this software.
Finally – Adobe Flash
Not necessary, but if you really want to make quality animations, then flash should be your first choice. Though there seems to be an issue of quality loss when converting to .GIF. For that I’ll suggest that you go through the 216 GIF Colour code list here before choosing your colours in Flash. Furthermore, if you are importing images, try to import them in .PNG instead of .GIF.

Some alternatives to Photoshop would be Fireworks which is pretty much the same thing and is a whole lot easier to use. Also GIMP which is free for those who don’t want to pay that much.
Then again there is always BitTorrent lol
