Ever been a participant of one of the many designing contests that are taking place on the net? And was never able to win anything, because the competition was tough. Believe me for professionals that is just an excuse. Today I’ll be telling you on how to eradicate your flaws to make your designs emphatic over others.
This should be your formula to follow.
1. Read the design brief a couple of times, until you get the exact hand of it.
2. Try to design something as close as possible to designer’s need.
3. When you’re done, Save it. But don’t submit it as yet.4. Wait for a few entries and see the buyer’s comments on that.
5. If someone designs something similar to you, change it immediately with a new concept.
6. Once you have read a couple of reviews, now submit your new design with special emphasis that you don’t make the faults your competitors made such as colour schemes, objects and fonts.
7. Try to be as creative and as targetted as you can on the design. Crisp, targetted designs weigh more over simple ones.
8. Read the buyer’s comments on your design. Improve the design accordingly and make another copy in which you should propose what have looked much better. This would enable the buyer to envision your imagination and he might like your ideas better.
Now once you’re done. Remain active at the competition and see how the entries flow and how does your design stands. If you think its not getting a good attention, try to remake the design with something brand new. Once you see that your design has lost its attention. Don’t waste that design or your time anymore on that, make it your portfolio. Maybe someone else would like your idea and hire you.

The closing comment on this article is very important. Never waste your designs, Designs are like ART. Not every design is liked by all. There will be people who will like our designs, until then keep building our portfolio is very important.
Another great article! Maybe I can actually win a competition now. Thanks for posting this.
