Freelancing – A more technical money making approach

27 05 2008

Are you wasting your precious little time, sitting on your computer, waiting for someone to sign-in, so that you could proceed with a chat or maybe too much pooling at yahoo is wasting those years out of your age for no good. Well why not make the best of this time and do some freelancing.

The oppurtunities on the internet are endless, and by endless I mean endless. Every heard of Mark Zukerberg? Well I am sure you have, the famous Facebook CEO. Well he started working on a simple social networking site back in 94, and look what he’s making today. There are even more younger people out there who have made credible bucks on the internet, due to their skills and talents.

Do I need to be a Computer Geek to earn anything?
Actually No, (Sorry about the Geek Term, no offense to anyone, just a figure of speech) you don’t have to know anything major except for just some basic handling of your computer.

So here’s the million dollar question – What can I do?
Well everyone has got its own talents, some are good in arts, others are creative writers and many are good singers. If you got anything, anything at all. You have a scope to be a part of the million dollar online industry – Freelancing. The internet features millions of jobs everyday where people require your services to write good reviews about them, draw or design them something or a creative idea for some new business, anything goes and best of all, you get paid for it. Ever imagined getting paid for saying ‘No I think, it needs more pepper’? I am sure not, but believe me worldwide cooks maybe interested in people trying their receipes and editing them for them for optimal taste.

Preferrable and more easy ways of Freelancing.
Now I must agree that the competition on the internet is tough, by the time you search for an offer, millions others have viewed and applied for it. So what should you do now?
The answer is again very simple – You prove yourself.
Now consider me writing for this blog, I won’t earn a penny to my name as yet, but if someone finds it interesting, and informative with correct usage of words and spellings, my talents may prove their worth and help me in earning a decent freelancing job. And still 17, living with my parents, what else could I hope for to increase my allowance out of nowhere.

What kinds of Freelancing should I opt for?
Well again a very simple answer would do the trick – Do what you are good at.
I have seen newbies on the internet falling haphazardly as they were just so interested in making money, they tried every possible way they could think of. Don’t rush for money, give it some rest. The oppurtunities will come to you themselves. Just try running a decent page and promoting it to viewers. Promoting could be done as a Simple Email to your Friends.

Hey Cristie – Check out my new Symphony at Hamzashams.com/files. I am sure you’ll love it.

As simple as that.
Then try promoting it on your MySpace Profile and all. As more and more people read/listen your content, the more the people will know of your creativity and better are your chances of getting something.

But it doesn’t just ends there, you should apply to people as well. Your page can serve as a Portfolio of your credible works. Promote to people seeking new staff. The more you promote the better. Believe me its just a matter of Cut+Paste and it won’t take hardly an hour. Once that is done, and hopefully you get someone to hire you, you’ll be looking at a 2 hour home sitting job out of nowhere, which may be part time initially but then again its more of a spare time job. Plus you’re getting paid for something you really like, not something you have to work much upon.

A more interesting note for our youngsters who are expert gamers and have a craze for gaming. Ever thought what that is worth to companies? You can be a BETA Tester. Imagine all the latest games sent to you for Free just to test them up and tell the company the flaws you encountered? Yes they pay you highly for that. Plus there are online gaming competitions ranging from $1000.00 to more than $1000,000.00. Ofcourse most of them have age limits, but some of them are not. So next time you think you are a Company of Heroes Champion, think again and prove yourself online, to know whether you really are?

Hope this article encourages the newbies, to start some Freelance work.

all what i can say about this post is that its true to the most senses.

I would like to consolidate what is being said in the mean time add my own point here

1) be positive in your approach towards internet specially what you say in public forum.

2) be proud of your work, and promote it in all possible ways till its not overdone.

also keep in mind what ever is available to anyone without loging in is also available to google and mark it when you do freelancing people have only one way to check on you besides what you tell them.

and that’s by searching your name. so be positive always and br proud of your work.

I did some freelancing quite some time back, but i dint make much money, but it was quite a fun and i gained so much of knowledge about how to deal with clients. My best win on internet gaming prizes so far is a T-shirt.

I know of a lot of people that know how to do web design and other things with websites and I think they are really fortunate in doing so, because it seems like they always have a job or a project. This is what Ive been trying to figure out for the past couple of months… the “what am i good at” question. Im good at researching, but there doesnt seem to be a lot of people looking for that kind of work online.
